Everything starts with building trust and confidence in one’s own strength and the result depends on how solid the trust and confidence is.
The state and people believing in their own strength and solving everything by their efforts are always powerful and sure to emerge victorious.
It can be said that the might and prestige of our state and the fame and honor of our people acknowledged by the world is the height of the spiritual asset. The rapid development and epochal victory in the field of national defence, remarkable successes in the spheres of economy and culture, brilliant realities of the capital city construction and regional and rural rejuvenation--this is the present phase and spirit of our country.
It is not because we abound in funds and reserves that we launched the gigantic revolutions of construction, rural community and public health.
Take the beginning of the construction of ５０, ０００ flats in Pyongyang for instance.
The respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un, in his speech made at the ground-breaking ceremony of the project for building １０, ０００ flats in Pyongyang held in March ２０２１, said that it is something beyond imagination to undertake this large-scale project in the circumstances of today, when the challenges and difficulties are harsher than ever before, and stressed that our Party, however, decided to push ahead with the project unconditionally as it is directly related with the living of the citizens of the capital city and as it is an important political undertaking of the first year of implementing the decisions of the Party Congress to the letter.
Actually, it was hard for us even to preserve and maintain the present situation in such ordeals but we reversed the unmanageable difficulties into a chance for building up our own strength and advanced dynamically along the track of development of our own style.
Now, construction projects of gigantic scales are going on throughout the country all at once including the construction of １０, ０００ flats at the fourth stage in the Hwasong area, the construction of rural houses and regional-industry factories, the construction of the largest-ever greenhouse farm and vegetable science research centre, and the construction of a multifunctional leisure complex, modern hospital and grain management facilities.
Our fighting goal gets higher and our fighting domain wider year by year.
Our speed of advance gets greater as days go by.
Then, what is the source of such amazing driving power, stubborn fighting power and rapid developing capability?
We are full of pride that we are creating the greatest and best future on our own in times of the biggest hardship and confidence that we can readily carry out any stiff and enormous tasks.
We did neither observe how the wind blows, merely waiting for things to get better, nor look beyond the borders, pinning hopes on others.
We only surmounted the obstacles and rose up higher in the spirit of self-sustenance and through a persevering struggle.
Today, our people create incessantly and proudly the new socialist civilization and life with patriotic efforts and ardor in the powerful war-free country.
The conflicts and bloody catastrophes of all sizes going on nonstop in every nook and corner of the world clearly prove that it was absolutely right of us to place firm trust in our own strength and firmly defend our dignity and rights by our own efforts in any situation.
Our strength and self-confidence are the ideological and mental powers with boundless potentialities.
The political and ideological might is the foremost national power of our state and a great motive power which encourages the people to make a breakthrough in the socialist power construction.
The remarkable successes in the socialist construction after the ８th Party Congress have been achieved by the strong fighting spirit and inexhaustible strength of all the Party members and other people who have made continued innovations and advance onwards keeping the same idea, intention and pace with the Party Central Committee.
As we have a large army of those strong in ideas and faith who accept the Party’s idea and guideline as the absolute truth, set their ideals and ambitions in keeping with the Party’s plans and intention and strive to carry out without fail the Party’s decisions, our motherland is advancing towards the overall development without a moment’s standstill and frustration.
The phase of overall development of our state is an upward trend brought about by the might of self-supporting economy and our material and technological potentialities.
Our self-supporting economy is the material foundation which ensures the country’s political independence, and is a reliable guarantee for strengthening of self-reliant defence capability.
The secret of successes in defending the country’s dignity and sovereignty in any difficulties and attaining the planned goals without fail is the firm foundation of the independence.
The progressive nature and modernity of our state which follows the unchangeable path of Juche are being improved day by day, as we have the self-supporting economy which helps us outpace the world by our own strength and technology and our resources, and the modern national defence industry which produces any kinds of powerful means of self-defence.
Now, the new regional development policy unprecedented since the founding of the nation is being promoted, thus inspiring all the people throughout the country with beautiful dreams, boundless courage and enthusiasm and leading the phase of overall development to upward stage.
Our people are full of self-confidence and courage moving from a revolution to a more gigantic one and from a stage of development to a higher level of transformation.
With progress in the building of socialism, the circumstances and conditions of the revolution might be changed; but invariable is our principled stand to open up a broad avenue for prosperity by self-supporting and self-reliance.
Thanks to the wise leadership of the Workers’ Party of Korea and the reliable self-supporting economy and self-reliant defence capability, the DPRK will be prosperous and ever-victorious.
