Corn harvest nearly finished at farms in Pyongyang

Article Content

Corn harvest has nearly been finished in the rural areas of Pyongyang Municipality. Greater achievements are being made in harvesting in Ryokpho District amid the boosted enthusiasm for socialist emulation among farms, workteams and sub-workteams. Agricultural workers in Kangnam and Kangdong counties are gathering reaped corn. Sadong District pushed ahead with harvesting by putting spurs to ensuring the speed and quality of harvesting and raising the work efficiency per hour. Farms in Hyongjesan, Mangyongdae and Rangnang districts paid attention to increasing the operation rate of farm machines and accurately calculated the daily work-points of the farmers to boost the enthusiasm of the masses. Sunan District organized manpower and work in a rational way and thus harvested and transported corn in a short span of time. The farms in the municipality are now making preparations for rice harvesting and winter wheat sowing. The Pyongyang Times, launched on May 6, 1965, is the DPRK's only English newspaper. It gives latest, detailed information about what is going on in the country in politics, the economy, culture and other sectors. And the paper also provides a vast knowledge of the nooks and crannies of Pyongyang.
