A session of the Permanent Commission of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK took place. The session discussed the issues of adopting the laws of the DPRK on farms’ year-end account settlement and consumer protection and adopted relevant decrees. The law on farms’ year-end account settlement is aimed at consolidating farms’ material and technical foundations and arousing farmers’ enthusiasm for production by properly assessing the daily work-points and conducting year-end account settlement and income distribution and the law on consumer protection at contributing to the protection of consumers’ legitimate rights and interests and to the improvement of the people’s living standards by setting up a system and order in providing goods and services The Pyongyang Times, launched on May 6, 1965, is the DPRK's only English newspaper.
