National martial art championships start

The national martial art championships began on October 15. The championships brought together more than 600 excellent players, coaches, students and instructors selected from the Ryongaksan Taekwon-Do Team, the North Hwanghae Provincial Taekwon-Do Team, paduk teams of all the provincial paduk centres, Korea University of Physical Education and Central Sports School. Taekwon-Do, wushu, Korean chess, paduk and other events will be held at the Taekwon-Do Palace, the Taekwon-Do Holy House and the Pyongyang Gold Lane. That day, there were wushu, karate and other events. The Pyongyang Times, launched on May 6, 1965, is the DPRK's only English newspaper. It gives latest, detailed information about what is going on in the country in politics, the economy, culture and other sectors. And the paper also provides a vast knowledge of the nooks and crannies of Pyongyang.
