Iranian president calls for unity of Islamic countries

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian called on Islamic countries to unite in a meeting held on October 15. He revealed that the dispute and discord between Islamic countries are the product of the plots hatched by the enemies of Islam and Zionists, not an aspiration of their peoples. The Islamic countries, especially the countries with common roots and culture in the region, have unbreakable bonds in the aspects of trust, history and culture, he said. Saying that the region needs unity more than ever before, he stressed the need for Islamic countries to cooperate for peace, justice and progress. The Pyongyang Times, launched on May 6, 1965, is the DPRK's only English newspaper.
