A spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry denounced the US for its hegemonic behaviour against the Central American countries in a press conference on October 21. Referring to the fact that the US recently announced a visa restriction measure against the citizens of the Central American countries collaborating with the Communist Party of China and pressured the countries not to cooperate with the Chinese enterprises, the spokesman branded it as a typical hegemonic act. He said that the US is politically pressuring and economically blackmailing the regional countries and personages by means of unilateral sanctions and infringing the legitimate rights and interests of other countries by putting its domestic law above international law. The US’ accusation of the regular exchanges and visits between the Central American countries and China is absolutely groundless and only reveals the deep-rooted arrogance and prejudice of the US politicians, the spokesman stressed.
