A spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China condemned the moves of Japan to revive militarism at a press conference on November 21.
The international legal documents, which were published after WWII, clearly defined the duty of Japan as a defeated nation and they say that it should be completely disarmed and should not maintain industry which would enable it to rearm itself, he said.
In recent years, however, Japan has expanded its military power, continued to increase the defense budget and adopted a new security bill aimed at removing the ban on the exercise of right to collective self-defense, he disclosed.
He emphasized that if Japan tries to take the old road of militarism again, break its promise for peaceful development and destroy the postwar international order, the international community will not tolerate it.
