National symposium on educational science held

The Seventh National Symposium on Educational Science took place at the Academy of Pedagogical Science from November 17 to 21. The symposium, themed "Revolution in education and educational science", was attended by officials, teachers, researchers and postgraduate students of educational institutions at all levels, and more than 800 papers were presented to the symposium. Appreciated there were papers presented by such units as Kim Il Sung University, Kim Hyong Jik University of Education, Kim Chaek University of Technology, Sariwon Kang Kon University of Medical Sciences, Phyongsong University of Education and Chongjin University of Mining and Metallurgical Engineering. Citations were awarded to the units and participants highly appreciated at the symposium. During the symposium, there was a workshop on the ways to implement the Workers' Party of Korea's policy on improving the teachers' qualifications, abilities and level of specialization. The Pyongyang Times, launched on May 6, 1965, is the DPRK's only English newspaper. It gives latest, detailed information about what is going on in the country in politics, the economy, culture and other sectors. And the paper also provides a vast knowledge of the nooks and crannies of Pyongyang.
