Lao embassy in Pyongyang hosts reception

The Lao embassy in Pyongyang hosted a reception at the Taedonggang Diplomatic Club on December 1 on the occasion of the 50th founding anniversary of the Lao People's Democratic Republic. Present there at invitation were Kang Yun Sok, vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK, Choe Hui Thae, chairman of the Pyongyang Municipal People's Committee who is also chairman of the DPRK-Laos Friendship Association, officials concerned and members of the diplomatic corps in Pyongyang. Keo Mackhaphon, Lao ambassador to the DPRK, and his embassy staff members attended the reception. The Pyongyang Times, launched on May 6, 1965, is the DPRK's only English newspaper. It gives latest, detailed information about what is going on in the country in politics, the economy, culture and other sectors. And the paper also provides a vast knowledge of the nooks and crannies of Pyongyang.
