Art souvenir exhibition opens in coastal tourist area

An art souvenir exhibition opened in the Wonsan Kalma Coastal Tourist Area wonderfully built into a Korean-style coastal tourist city and cultural recreation ground of the people on September 17. The exhibition brought together fine art and folk crafts studios in Pyongyang and the regions including the Mansudae Art Studio. Presented to the exhibition were more than 2 500 pieces of 20-odd kinds including Korean painting, oil painting, acrylic painting and ceramics reflecting the eye-opening reality, national symbols, 5 000-year-long history and brilliant culture and excellent folk traditions of the country. During the exhibition there will be exchanges for sharing and generalizing the successes and experience gained by the relevant units in the course of creating works, and the sale of souvenirs. The Pyongyang Times, launched on May 6, 1965, is the DPRK's only English newspaper. It gives latest, detailed information about what is going on in the country in politics, the economy, culture and other sectors. And the paper also provides a vast knowledge of the nooks and crannies of Pyongyang.
