Farmers move into new houses in South Hamgyong Province

Modern houses of diverse and unique styles have been built in Yonggo-ri of Sinhung County and Pulgunbyol-ri of Hamju County, South Hamgyong Province. The houses are designed to offer inhabitants good living conditions and convenience. In the two areas, there took place ceremonies of moving into new houses. Present there were officials of the Party and power organs of the province and the two counties, builders and the agricultural workers who would move into the new houses. Congratulatory speeches were made at the ceremonies. Licences for the use of houses were handed over to be followed by speeches. As art performances and dance parties were given amid the great joy of people enjoying a new highly civilized life thanks to the benevolence of the Workers' Party, the villages were in a festive mood. Listening to the farmers' and other residents' impressions, the officials encouraged them to work harder for the grateful Party and socialist system. The people's happy laughter rang out from the houses where the DPRK flags were flying. The Pyongyang Times, launched on May 6, 1965, is the DPRK's only English newspaper. It gives latest, detailed information about what is going on in the country in politics, the economy, culture and other sectors. And the paper also provides a vast knowledge of the nooks and crannies of Pyongyang.
