Amid the brisk regional and rural construction, many regions have made actual progress in the work to consolidate their own foundations for producing finishing building materials.
Over ４０ finishing building materials production bases were newly built and ６０-odd others were expanded.
South Hwanghae Province registered marked success in cementing its own finishing building materials production foundation.
In the beginning of this year, the provincial headquarters for rural construction held a meeting to deal with the shortage of finishing building materials needed for the construction of rural dwelling houses in some regions.
The officials of the headquarters present at the meeting drew a serious lesson from their work attitude and decided to launch the work for solidifying the production foundation of finishing building materials in a bold manner.
Under the guidance of the provincial Party Committee, the officials of the provincial headquarters for rural construction pushed ahead with the construction work of the production building and the manufacturing and installation of equipment with a definite plan.
At the same time, Yonan County and other regions of the province newly established or expanded the finishing building materials production lines.
Progress was also made by Pyongyang Municipality and South Hamgyong Province which channeled primary efforts into modernizing the production lines.
Several districts and counties of Pyongyang Municipality like Rangnang District and Kangnam County newly installed new equipment or renovated the existing production line in terms of technology, thus producing high-quality finishing building materials for the rural housing construction.
South Hamgyong Province planned to enhance the capacity of several finishing building materials production units like the Songchongang Tile Factory in an effort to supply finishing building materials to those regions with unfavorable traffic conditions and weak foundations and proved successful by paying efforts to this end.
Other provinces like North Phyongan and North Hwanghae provinces generalized the successes and experience gained in the process of consolidating the production foundations for finishing building materials.
At present, officials and working people in different parts put spurs to the struggle to attain higher goals for cementing the finishing building materials production foundation.
